Susan WelchProgram Assistant and Office ManagerSusan received her BA in Film Studies from UC Berkeley in 1982, and assisted in making a documentary on the high infant mortality rate in East Oakland. After college, she provided administrative support for local small businesses and non-profits in Berkeley and Santa Cruz. She has some experience as an activist: In high school and after, she worked as an organizer for the United Farm Workers Union. She has been arrested for civil disobedience several times, opposing apartheid, nuclear power and nuclear weapons. She began working at UC Santa Cruz in 1994 and joined the CJTC team in March 2001. Her interests include practicing Marshall Rosenberg’s Non-Violent Communication, exercising (especially hiking), and renovating her Felton home where she lives with a housemate.
