Assistant to the Director and Researcher

After 4 years working as Assistant to the Director and Staff Researcher at the CJTC, Julie moved to South Lake Tahoe where her partner is working as a firefighter/paramedic. She has worked as tutor in various subjects at the Lake Tahoe Community College and applied for graduate school to study geography and land use planning. Currently, she works as Director of the Foster Kinship Care Program, and also coordinates seasonal employment opportunites in U.S. resorts.

During her time at the CJTC, Julie worked on"Community-Based Regionalism","Bridging the Bay", "Conversation on Regional Equity" and the "Globalizing Civil Society" projects. She graduated from the Leadership Santa Cruz County Class of 2003 and organized large public events in downtown Santa Cruz featuring the likes of Urvashi Vaid, Ernie Cortes, Rubén Martinez, and many others. Julie leaves a legacy of organizing Women as Social Warriors.
