Issues: Militarization

Iraq War Workshop:
Nina Farina

This workshop was developed by Nina Farnia, formerly of the Southwest Youth Collaborative and the Still We Rise Coalition. The objective here is to gain a better understanding of the ongoing war and occupation of Iraq and the reasons for why it happened. It was originally designed for youth, but it is also an effective tool for adults, as it can function to spark controversial discussions about war and, and, more broadly, U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. It is highly interactive and forces the participants not only to rethink their own analyses of the war, but also encourages an analysis of colonialism and imperialism in a language understandable to youth.
